Red Dead Online RELEASE TIME TODAY: Thursday 29 – Red Dead Multiplayer Day 2 Start times (Pic: ROCKSTAR)

Red Dead Online Release Update – Day 3 Launch Details

Day 2 Update 1: Red Dead Redemption 2 opened up the online floodgates to day one console players on Wednesday and today that pool of new prospective players on PS4 and Xbox One is going to grow significantly.

As we've already alluded to the game has adopted an approach to release the online multiplayer side of the game to small sub-sections of players at a time.

Today it's the turn of anyone who first played the game on its opening weekend, which for reference, was between October 26 and October 29

Yesterday's launch had a few issues at the start, but very quickly those were ironed out and the vast majority of players were able to jump into the game on both PS4 and Xbox One with no issues.

However, the size of players jumping into the game for this next batch of online users should be significantly more than either of the past two days.

So it's again possible that we might see some server disruption.

Equally, we at least now know when the online side of the game will unlock, after Rockstar confirmed Wednesday that the rollout should begin at 1.30pm every day this week.

Should any further details come to light we'll be sure to update you. Stand by for further news and hopefully a problem-free release.

Red Dead Online Release Update – Day 2 Launch Details

Day 2 Update 2: A Rockstar spokesperson has now confirmed that the Red Dead 2 Online beta for all players who played on launch day should begin at 1.30pm GMT.

"It should roll out at around 1:30pm every day," a Rockstar spokesperson explained.

This was largely expected but it's good to know this is now official. Stay tuned for more details in the next 30 minutes.

Day 2 Update 1: Red Dead Online went online yesterday, opening the floodgates to fans around the world who've been raring to begin their own personal online Western.

Although, as we're sure fans will know, it was only open to a small sub-section of players.

Namely, those who bought the Red Dead Redemption 2: Ultimate Edition.

But today a second slice of the player base will be able to jump in, which includes anyone who played Red Dead Redemption 2 on launch day (which was October 26th FYI).

In truth, yesterday's launch wasn't without it's faults, namely Xbox One players who were unable to get into the game for one reason or another.

And today there's an even bigger potential not only for things to go wrong, but also, more players to stress the new servers; and subsequently complain when things do go wrong.

What time will this chaos begin once again? From what we can tell there's no official time been given, but we'd wager that it will be the same rough launch window as Tuesday, which began at 1.30PM GMT.

Should any further details come to light we'll be sure to update you. But in the meantime, hold onto your stetsons and standby for launch!

Red Dead Online Update – Battle Royale Confirmed?

Red Dead Online will be going live in just a couple of hours but before the multiplayer mode can go live, some gamers have already started (somehow) to datamine the updated files on PC to uncover some special pieces of information about what's to come.

There's a lot of info to unpack, all of which you can read about on the link below, but one of the biggest discoveries appears to confirm a Red Dead Online Battle Royale mode.

Initially, this was leaked by Trusted Reviews some months back as part of a huge leak that ultimately lead to legal action from Rockstar and the site pulling the article and paying a £1m settlement to charity.

The mode – called Make It Count – is a 32-player battle royale where players must fight to be the last one standing (obviously) whilst staying within the bounds of a shrinking playable area.

Whether this will be live at launch, isn't clear, but likely we'll find out more today. Stay tuned for more details.

Original Story – Rockstar has at long last announced when the Red Dead 2 Online Beta is set to start. And true to their word, it's coming this November.

Better still, it's coming TODAY. Well, sort of. The beta will go live but not for everyone all at once.

In fact the staggered launch means that over the course of the next four days, the Red Dead Redemption 2 multiplayer mode will have four completely separate launch windows.

It's believed that Rockstar has gone with this plan as a means of preventing the utter chaos that plagued the launch of GTA Online many years ago for GTA 5 fans.

And arguably, with an even bigger, more popular game such as Red Dead Redemption 2, it's plausible that the launch of Red Dead 2 Online could be even more massive and stressful for the Rockstar servers.

So in a bid to quell this, the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2's multiplayer mode has been staggered.

"This will help ensure that our servers can handle a steadily growing volume of concurrent players in the early hours and first days of the Beta and hopefully reduce the likelihood of any server crashes during the launch week as we get things up and running," Rockstar confirmed in their Red Dead Online announcement Monday.

The one thing Rockstar certainly aren't doing is being modest when it comes to the new mode, which from the sounds of their pitch, will be something mightily impressive:

"Built from the ground up for the latest hardware, Red Dead Online blends the classic multiplayer of the original Red Dead Redemption with the best of everything we have learned since then about creating deep multiplayer experiences," Rockstar boast.

"The result is something completely new and fun, and an experience that will continue to expand and evolve over time."

What else has Rockstar said about Red Dead Online?

Here's a little more info about the mode, courtesy of Rockstar themselves:

"With the gameplay of Red Dead Redemption 2 as its foundation, Red Dead Online transforms the vast and deeply detailed landscapes, cities, towns and habitats of Red Dead Redemption 2 into a new, living online world ready to be shared by multiple players.

"Create and customize your character, tailor your abilities to suit your play style and head out into a new frontier full of things to experience.

"Explore the world solo or with friends. Form or join a Posse to ride with up to seven players; gather around the fire at your Camp; head out hunting or fishing; visit bustling towns; battle enemy gangs and attack their hideouts; hunt for treasure; take on missions and interact with familiar characters from across the five states; or fight against other outlaws in both spontaneous skirmishes and pitched set-piece battles; compete with other players or whole Posses in open world challenges and much more.

Rockstar has promised more details about Red Dead Online modes, gameplay and more with the latest Rockstar newswire blog post, which is also expected later today.
