Fortnite 6.1 UPDATE: Early Patch Notes Reveal, LEAKED Skins, Halloween Map Changes News (Pic: EPIC GAMES)

Fortnite Season 6 launched last week and with it Battle Royale players received a whole heap of new content, but if there's one thing we know about the game, is that Epic Games ALWAYS have more content lined up.

That's why we're fairly certain that the developers are preparing to release the games new 6.1 update on PS4, Xbox One, PC, iOS, Android and Nintendo Switch TOMORROW.

Fortnite makes of habit of releasing new updates on a Tuesday morning, so we see no other reason for them to deviate from the schedule.

In all likelihood, the game will require a small bit of downtime for the latest update to be release, with patch notes arriving at the same time, which in the past has come at around 9am BST for all those in the UK.

However, although Epic Games haven't announced anything just yet, we do have a fairly good idea what the next patch could contain, thanks to both Epic Games announcements and several more datamined sources.

It's likely we're going to see plenty of new skins, more Halloween map changes, new items to use in game plus your usual assortment of bug fixes.

Read on to discover what could be changing this week…

Fortnite 6.1 Update – NEW SKINS

The only skins currently in the games datamined files from the launch of Season 6 are those which are available in the Battle Pass.

The only skins from the original launch which weren't live or part of the battle pass, was the Octoberfest and Aviation Age Gear, which have both been available in the item shop over the course of the weekend.

You don't even need to do the math. Tomorrow we should see a whole bunch of new leaked skins coming in Season 6, likely to the games Item Shop in the coming days and weeks.

In fact, we might already have some clues as to some of the future skins thanks to the games first Fortnite Loading Screen. Hidden in the background of that loading screen was two Scarecrow character skins.

Given that these also play into the whole Darkness Rises/Halloween theme, we wouldn't be surprised to see them revealed tomorrow.

There's also reports from dataminers finding reference to a pickaxe belonging to the Dark Bomber skin. So that could be revealed too.

Fortnite 6.1 Update – FREEZE TRAPS

These already exist in Save the World, but dataminers have discovered in the season 6 launch files references to them in the same directory used for Battle Royale files.

So it's safe to assume we'll be getting Freeze Traps in Battle Royale pretty soon.

Rare Trap – Hits all enemies on trap when triggered doing small damage and slowing players.

Fortnite 6.1 Update – HALLOWEEN EVENT?

We already knew that Epic Games were working on some sort of Halloween event for 2018, but over the weekend players noticed that various Halloween decorations started popping up in Tilted Towers and Pleasant Park.

There's small ghostly things, cobwebs, giant spiders and much more.

It might be that tomorrow Epic Games don't formally announce the Halloween event just yet. After all it's only October 1st.

BUT, it's possible that dataminers could uncover even more assets or Halloween related teasers in the games new files.

We'll just have to cross our fingers for more spooky goings on when the update drops.

Fortnite 6.1 Update – Anything Else?

On top of everything mentioned previously, we should see the usual array of bug fixes for both Fortnite Battle Royale and Fortnite Save the World.

Keep reading to take a look at some of the main bugs which the Trello board has marked as 'fixed in the next release'.

This isn't to say they'll definitely be included in the next patch. But there's a pretty decent chance.

Battle Royale 'fixed' Issues:

  • Floating Island appears in the wrong location on mini-map.
  • Audio for player eliminations is the same audio used for rotating structures.
  • Unrendered Starter Island may appear during the loading screen.
  • Occasional audio "pops" on Xbox and PC
  • Items no longer float on water at Loot Lake.

Save the World 'fixed' Issues:

  • Keep Out AOE is smaller than it should be.
