K-pop stars EXO have released the video to Universe, the title track of their new winter album.

The video features the group each searching for ‘the one’, with a strong theme of coffee imagery running throughout the footage. The video centres around the two ideas of each singer searching the universe for love while also being brought together by drinking coffee.

The track is an emotional rock ballad, and showcases their individual vocals.

They will perform the track on 31 December at MBC Gayo Daejejun music festival. The song comes from album Universe, which has already hit the top of the iTunes chart globally.

Fans have noticed a theme throughout the album and are full of praise for the decision – the group have opted to use gender neutral lyrics, using ‘me and you’ instead of ‘he and she’.

Followers have said the choice has made their music ‘more relatable’ and thanked the group for ‘giving everyone love.’

One fan noted: ‘I think it (gender neutrality) makes it more relatable to any gender when listening/singing along.’

Exo's winter album 'Universe' is gender neutral. There is no he/she, just we/you terms in the songs.
