Bungie just can't keep things under wraps, can it?

Almost as soon as the final Year 2 DLC, Season of Opulence, went live, the Destiny 2 Year 3 Shadowkeep expansion leaked via an image hidden in the game's files.

Then, to add insult to injury, we saw Kotaku publish an article suggesting the game was going to get Cross-save functionality, too.

Now – just when you think things couldn't possibly get any leakier – it looks like Engadget posted a story some 8 hours ahead of schedule revealing that the game will be going free-to-play.

On a now-removed page, Engadget seems to have broken an embargo and revealed that Bungie will be taking Destiny 2 in a free-to-play direction.

"Following its split with Activision, Bungie has had to find a new store for its shooter. PC gamers will be pleased to note that Destiny 2 will soon be available on Steam, and can migrate their progress and purchases over for free," a preview of the page on Google (as seen below) suggests.
