Mortal Kombat 11 - was Scorpion stealing some of Raiden's moves?

One of the highlights of Thursday nights Game Awards was the reveal of Mortal Kombat 11 which has a release date which is right around the corner.

Fans watching the event from Los Angeles were treated to a brand new trailer for the new NetherRealm game which arrives next year.

Without giving too much away about the gameplay, the trailer features Raiden and Scorpion getting into it, and with appropriate levels of violence for the iconic franchise.

When is the Mortal Kombat 11 release date?

There is set to be a community reveal event as soon as 17 January, so not long to wait at all.

The official release date will be on Tuesday 23 April 2019.

Pre-orders have already started for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC – giving you exclusive access to a beta and the Shao Kahn character.

It will be four years after the release of Mortal Kombat X which came out in April 2015, winning Best Fighting Game at the Game Awards that year.

The first Mortal Kombat game was released all the way back in October 1992.
