Back in March 2017, developer CD Projekt RED announced through an earnings report that they had sold over 25 million copies of games in their critically-acclaimed The Witcher franchise.

Around the same time, reports surfaced that CD Projekt RED would be launching two new AAA games by 2021.

We now know that one of these games is Cyberpunk 2077, which does not have a release date as of yet, but more information is expected to be revealed at this years E3 conference.

With no official announcement on the second game, fans were left wondering whether the second title had been delayed or maybe even scrapped.

But it seems based on a recent comment on CD Projekt REDs official forums that this mystery second game is still very much on track.

Over on the developer's forums, Donata Popławska CD PROJECT Moderator commented:

“As far as the strategy of the CD PROJEKT Capital Group for 2016-2021 is concerned, its plans to release the second AAA game by 2021 remain unchanged.

“We are currently focusing on the production and promotion of Cyberpunk, so we do not want to comment on further projects.”

Many fans are speculating that the second AAA game in the works may be a fourth instalment of The Witcher franchise.

Given the huge sales racked up by the first three games, a fourth in the series would seem like a likely bet.

However, nothing has been confirmed and CD Projekt RED could always be working on a brand-new IP, something fresh to add to their impressive catalogue of games.
