MODERN Warfare fans could be in store for another surprise treat this year, as Call of Duty publisher Activision plans to release further remasters.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 could be the next in line to get a PS4, Xbox One and PC remaster.

Following the recent release of the Modern Warfare 2 remaster, Activision is reportedly planning to launch an upgraded version of the sequel.

According to TheGamingRevolution, Modern Warfare 3 Remastered has been ready to launch for some time now.

There’s no set release date for the remaster, but it will reportedly launch on PS4 a month before Xbox One and PC.

“In the worlds darkest hour, are you willing to do what is necessary?” reads the official Modern Warfare 3 description.

“Prepare yourself for a cinematic thrill-ride as only Call of Duty can deliver.

“Online, the definitive Multiplayer experience returns bigger and better than ever, loaded with new maps, modes and features. Co-Op play has evolved with all-new Spec-Ops missions and leaderboards, as well as Survival Mode, an action-packed combat progression unlike any other.”

Unfortunately, however, there is some bad news. Much like Modern Warfare 2 Remastered, the remake will be single-player only.

This is due to Activision not wanting to split Call of Duty’s online fanbase.

Activision’s current focus is on Call of Duty Modern Warfare for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

That’s in addition to Call of Duty Warzone, which is a free-to-play battle royale spinoff.

It’s a busy time for the game fans right now, following the recent release of Season 3.

Season 3 adds new multiplayer maps such as Talisk Backlot (which is a remake of Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfares Backlot), the Hovec Sawmill and Aniyah Incursion.

Alex also makes an appearance as a new Operator, alongside other new characters within the Battle Pass.

Warzone fans can ride new vehicles, and play in squads of four thanks to the new Quads mode.
