Caitlyn Jenner has been in the spotlight for four decades, formerly known as the Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner.

Following Olympics success, Caitlyn, as Bruce, went on to enjoy newfound fame, winding up on Keeping Up With The Kardashians as Kris Jenner’s husband and the father of Kendall and Kylie Jenner.

The 68-year-old hit headlines in 2015 when she announced she was to undergo gender reassignment surgery and say goodbye to Bruce to officially become Caitlyn – and a spokesperson for the LGBT community.

This week she’s been making headlines again after clashing with Piers Morgan on his Life Stories programme after he quizzed her on whether she enjoyed having sex with women.

Here’s all you need to know about the most famous openly trans women in the world…

How many children does Caitlyn have?

Caitlyn Jenner has been married three times – all during her time as Bruce Jenner – and has six children.

She was married to Chrystie Jenner from 1972 to 1981, to Linda Thompson from 1981 to 1986 and, most famously, to Keeping Up With The Kardashians momager Kris Jenner from 1991 to 2015. They split the same year she confirmed she was having gender reassignment surgery.

Caitlyn has son Burt, 39, and daughter Cassandra, 37, with Chrystie; sons Brandon, 36, and Brody, 34, with Linda; and daughters Kendall, 22, and Kylie, 20, with Kris.

What did she do before Keeping Up With The Kardashians fame?

She might be better known by the TV-viewing generation now as an American television personality, but Caitlyn is a retired Olympics gold medal-winning decathlete.

As Bruce, Jenner injured his knee during a game of college football in the 70s. His coach then convinced him to train for the decathlon and Jenner went on to win the 1976 Olympics decathlon event at the Montreal Olympic Games.

Given that the winner of the decathlon is typically known as the ‘world’s greatest athlete’, Jenner went on to enjoy a career spawning film, TV and showbusiness.

When did Bruce Jenner become Caitlyn Jenner?

As Bruce, Caitlyn announced she identified as a trans woman in April 2015, going on to change her name to Caitlyn in the July 2015 issue of Vanity Fair.

It was in September that same year that she officially became female as she underwent surgery.

What is Caitlyn Jenner’s net worth?

It’s estimated that her net worth is around £65million.

Following her Olympics glory and KUWTK pay cheques, she was rumoured to have earned just over £3million for her own reality TV series I Am Cait.

It’s also reported that she can bag up to £78,000 per speech when she rallies for the LGBT community;.

And what exactly happened on Piers Morgan’s Life Stories?

Jenner accused Morgan of ‘going too far’ after he grilled her on her sex life in the interview.

As Piers quizzes Caitlyn on whether she enjoyed having sex with women when she was Bruce, he said: ‘You have six children. I don’t want to be too intrusive, but did you enjoy having sex with women?’

‘You will probably have to ask them,’ Caitlyn replied curtly.

Piers said: ‘Tell me if I am going too far, but do you have sex now?’

Caitlyn snapped: ‘You are going too far, it is absolutely none of your business.’

They also clashed when Piers asked her about how her ‘physique’ has changed in ‘certain areas’ from when she was living as a man.

An irritated Caitlyn said: ‘You said certain areas. That to a trans person is disrespectful. It’s not funny. Because it’s life. It’s part of my life and it’s a very serious part of my life. I take that very seriously.

‘Out of respect to myself and the community, it’s not something you joke about. This is serious stuff. People die over this issue.’

Piers Morgan’s Life Stories airs on Thursday 4 January at 9pm on ITV1.
