Bully 2 NEWS: Forget Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA 6 – Rockstar's NEXT new game REVEALED (Pic: ROCKSTAR)
All eyes may be on Red Dead Redemption 2 as Rockstar ramps up for the release of the game, but the developer could have something else on the backburner right now, too.
This week, news emerged that the developer may be working on another triple-A title- and has already started casting calls for the game.
That game is Bully 2 – a follow-up to the PS2 critically-acclaimed school simulator that released well back in 2006.
A series of new casting calls has put out requests for “new unannounced video game title with a leading UK games developer, shooting at Pinewood Studios.”
The calls ask for teen- and young roles, with placeholder names given to characters (no spoilers here, then!)
There is a little detail about the project given, though:
“Mild violence and profanity will be used in scenes with the young performer. The project itself is a thriller/drama and all scenes with the young performer will be handled with sensitivity.”
Other calls mention older characters such as “College Professors”, and the whole project is being organised by casting director Jessica Jeffries.
Rumours surfaced last year which suggested the game is currently in production. However, Rockstar has yet to confirm or officially announce Bully 2.
Meanwhile, in 2009, the musician Shawn Lee claimed he would be working on the soundtrack to Bully 2 in “the not so distant future”.
Dan Houser producer at Rockstar Games said in an interview about Max Payne in 2011: “So we knew that we didnt want to start doing the Bully sequel instantly at that second with those guys – Even though it is a property like that, like Max, we are and might come back to in the future.
“There was just no impetus to do that then.”
But now, with a new console generation on the horizon, we might just see some progress.
