PlayStation VR is two years old and to commemorate the moment theres a free demo for Astro Bot and DLC for Firewall Zero Hour.

Its been a relatively quiet revolution but two years in and the PlayStation VR headset now has an enviable collection of genuinely great games – many of them exclusive to the PlayStation 4.

VR itself hasnt been quite the mainstream breakthrough that some expected but the amount of experience Sony and its developers now have puts them considerably ahead of their rivals once the next generation begins.

In the meantime, theyre celebrating the anniversary with a number of new announcements, including the unexpected reveal of Borderlands 2 VR.

This seems to be the full game in VR, which seems an odd choice given that fast-paced first person shooters are usually difficult to getting working comfortably. But the game will have a teleporting movement system and a new slow motion ability to compensate.

Its out on December 14, which will be the first new, or new-ish, Borderlands game since Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel in 2014. There was also Telltale Games adventure game spin-off the same year but it remains a mystery as to when Gearbox will release the long-awaited Borderlands 3.

Also announced on the PlayStation Blog is that the excellent Astro Bot: Rescue Mission will be getting a free demo on Tuesday, October 16.

Considering we named the full game the best VR title ever made the demo will be a must-have for anyone that owns a headset. And something everyone else should experience if they get the chance.

Also new is the annoucement of DLC for Firewall Zero Hour, easily the best online shooter so far for PlayStation VR.

The DLC will also be out on October 16 and unlocks new items, skins, and weapons for a completely new style of play. What exactly that means isnt clear but the more the merrier.
