The first new game reveal of E3 has proven to be Baldurs Gate III, with a teaser trailer debuting during Google Stadias first ever livestream news event.

The teaser is pre-rendered, with no gameplay footage, so it doesnt really give much away other than some sort of Lovecraftian monster seems to be taking over the storied city of Baldurs Gate.

The game is being made by Belgium developer Larian Studios, who made the superb Divinity: Original Sin II – one of the best Western style role-players of all time and one of the very few games weve ever given a 10/10 score to.

The game isnt a Stadia exclusive though and will also be released on PC as normal. It took Divinity: Original Sin II about a year to make it to consoles but it did manage it, so the same will probably happen with Baldurs Gate III.

Theres very little information to discern about the game from the trailer or the brief developer interview during Googles livestream, but it is mentioned the studio has had to triple its size to make the game.

The only other info is this official blurb from the press release:

Baldurs Gate III is based off current D&D mechanics and spells and is the official new chapter in the legendary series.

Baldurs Gate III will push the boundaries of the RPG genre and offer a rich narrative with unparalleled player freedom, high-stakes decisions, unique companion characters and memorable combat. It is Larian Studios biggest production ever and will be playable together with friends or as a single-player adventure.

In terms of other games, Google has clearly got Ubisofts full backing, as almost all their recent and upcoming games were confirmed, including Ghost Recon Breakpoint and The Division 2.

But there were also two brand new indie-looking games, with Get Packed by Shadow Point developer Coatsink appearing to offer some Overcooked! style four-player couch co-op action.
