2017 has gone down in history as one of the bad years.
From world leaders threatening nuclear war, to Brexit woes – we’ve put up with a lot the past 12 months.
But to try and raise the spirits for the last breath of 2017, we thought we’d dig up some positives to end the year on a high.
Thanks to celebrities.
We’re being series – using their voice for good, a bunch of famous people helped out fans and just gave us a healthy dose of warm and fuzzies the past 12 months.

That time Nicki Minaj agreed to pay for a fan’s college tuition
Schooling can be expensive, you know, so queen Nicki agreed to step in when a fan spontaneously asked if she could cover their school fees.
The only caveat was that her fan had to score As and she ‘would hold up her end of the bargain’.

It didn’t take long for the rest of her followers to realise she was giving out free money.

When Rihanna dished out dating advice
Heartbreak sucks, and even celebrities go through the shitness that is love lost.
And while many people hit up Rihanna’s DMs to try and get a reply, one lucky fan actually got one after the singer replied to her message asking how to get over heartbreak.
Rihanna’s response?
When Stormzy performed at a fan’s father’s funeral
This one will really warm the cockles. Certified legend Stormzy replied to a fan, Nasir Bockarie who revealed his recently-departed father’s favourite song was Stormzy’s track Blinded By Your Grace.
He wrote: ‘Bro my Dad passed away on the day of my graduation last week Friday. Our favourite song of yours was blinded by your grace.
‘Would love it if you could perform this at his funeral next Thursday 21st December. Don’t worry if you can’t, I just thought I’d try my luck. Hopeful.’
The grime star then started DM’ing and, as the video proves, the rapper obliged.
JK Rowling serving up social media burns left, right and centre
While this one hasn’t helped one particular person, it has given entertainment and light to many, many people through this dark period.
Mainly she just tweets Donald Trump, which is always a win, but the Harry Potter’s Twitter feed is a roll call of all that is good online.
That time Stormzy rapped with fan’s mother, sent internet into overdrive
Again Stormzy makes an appearance in the list, after video emerged of him rapping with a fan’s mother.
The artist is probably approached by a whole horde of people each day requesting a rap battle with the singer – but on this day he agreed to a collab with ‘Susie’ – the mother of Laurie Evans – at V Festival, after she approached him for a video to send to his son.
And the internet was here for it.
As was her son who posted it online.

Waka Flocka Flame offered up his doctors to suffering family
In September, rapper Waka surprised a mother who suffers autoimmune condition lupus and her son, who suffers from cerebral palsy.
The woman’s husband took to social media to praise the artist, saying he gave them full access to his holistic doctors that ‘only the elite have access to’.
He took to Facebook saying: ‘Waka is a good ass dude. Some of you know my wife suffers from lupus and my youngest has cerebral palsy.
‘This guy has put us in contact with his doctors that are into holistic / aboriginal therapy. The type of doctors only the elite have access to with unbelievable proven results!
‘Waka Flocka Flame I wanna thank you for the time you spent with Jaiden and my family. He keeps saying “Did Waka Flocka go home” in the saddest voice.’
Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda dished out some helpful and soul-baring advice

Lin-Manuel became the legend of 2016 after creating Hamilton and shooting into the pop culture stratosphere.
But earlier this year he came to the aid of a pleading fan who was looking to create vulnerable art.
His response? Priceless.
When Rick and Morty creator Dan Harmon responded to a fan that needed help
Earlier this month a follower tweeted at Dan ‘Do you have advice for dealing with depression’.
He replied in a lengthy feed of four posts, saying: ‘Admit and accept that it’s happening. Awareness is everything. We put ourselves under so much pressure to feel good. It’s okay to feel bad. It might be something you’re good at! Communicate it. DO NOT KEEP IT SECRET. Own it. Like a hat or jacket. Your feelings are real.’
The most important thing I can say to you is please don’t deal with it alone. There is an incredible, miraculous magic to pushing your feelings out. Even writing “I want to die” on a piece of paper and burning it will feel better than thinking about it alone. Output is magical.

Ryan Reynolds aided fan during heartbreak
Ryan Reynolds is a man for the people, we tell you.
The Deadpool star reached out to a fan who was trying to get over an ex in one of the less traditional ways, but still potentially effective.
After she was dumped days after the two attended prom, swiftly sullying their formal photos, she decided to Photoshop Ryan’s face over that of her former beau.
A great choice, we must say.
Ryan saw, he liked, he pledged to attack the dude’s Yearbook photo next.
If that doesn’t mend a broken heart, we don’t know what will.

Then when a whole host of stars made the day of bullied school boy
This isn’t just one celebrity, but many of them, who reached out to bullied schoolboy Ollie after his father Chris wished upon some stars on Twitter to see if they could send some positive messages to lift his spirits.
His father said: ‘The bully keeps saying to him that everything O has, he has bigger/better/more often.
‘I would love someone to tell him he does mean something and bullying is not ok, ever.’
Stars heard the mercy call and returned with their sweetest messages.
Celebrities including Stormzy (again with the legend move), Russell Crowe, Dawn French and the English football team sent messages to the youngen which no doubt raised his confidence.
Ah, 2017 wasn’t so bad after all.
