Tiffany Haddish has revealed that she was raped aged 17 by a police cadet.

The Girls Trip actress has been open about her struggles in life, having been put into the foster care system at 15 when brain damage her mother sustained in a car crash triggered abusive behaviour and mental illness.

And the 38-year-old has now spoken out on being sexually assaulted, saying it left her messed up for a long time.

Speaking to Glamour magazine, Tiffany said: That whole experience put me in such a messed-up place for a long time, and I ended up going to counselling.

The actress reported the rape at the time, with nothing come out of it, but doesnt know what justice would mean to her.

She said: Me just yelling out peoples names with no thought behind it is pointless. I need a plan. I could be a voice, but whats a voice going to do—just keep talking? Or is there action behind it?

Tiffany added that this horrific attack contributed to the armour she wears on a day to day basis.

She told the magazine: I notice that men are afraid of women that are aggressive. So to protect myself I become semi-aggressive.

You hear about, “Tiffany always hitting on somebody,” but thats to keep them from hitting on me.

The comedian, who stars alongside Kevin Hart in new comedy Night School, has been through a lot on her journey to fame.

While working as a stand-up comic in Los Angeles, Tiffany was homeless for a time and lived out of her car – once being given money by Kevin Hart to get somewhere to stay.

She previously told Vanity Fair: Kevin gave me $300, told me to get a room for a week, and I was like, “I dont know where you can get a room for a week in Los Angeles for $300, thats impossible.” But I got me a motel room, and he told me to write out a list of goals and start doing something every day toward those goals.
