Xbox One players are about to get a massive new console update and its going to bring about some big changes to the Microsoft console.
As always, the update will be made available to members of the Alpha Skip Ahead and Alpha test groups before being rolled out for the rest of the public.
Theres no word on how big the update download will be. Dubbed “1905” the focus here is quality of life improvements, helping Xbox gamers to better organise their collections and interact with one another.
If your backlog wasnt big enough already, there are many Xbox Game Pass holders who now find themselves completely buried in the number of games they now have access to.
It can be overwhelming, and theres nothing worse than spotting a game youd like to check out later only for it to get buried and forgotten.
You can now earmark these games, creating a “play later” list that collects those titles youve taken a fancy to, making them easier to find whenever browsing the growing Xbox Game Pass catalogue.

The ways friends and messages work are also due for a refresh. When logged in, youll now be able to see which device Xbox Live members are using – a small interface tweak Microsoft has made in anticipation of its upcoming xCloud initiative which will allow a whole host of platforms to host Xbox Live services.
Incoming messages from users who arent on your friends list will also be sorted into their own menu option to help tidy up your messages.
With April rapidly drawing to end, Xbox Live subscribers are no doubt wondering when Mays free Games With Gold will be announced.
Typically, friendly Xbox frontman Larry Hryb (aka “Major Nelson”) presents the monthly list of freebies, which will hopefully become available in the next few days.
Right now, those with an Xbox Live membership can snap up sci-fi roleplaying game, The Technomancer, for free as well as Outcast: Second Contact, a remake of the 1999 original.
These are joined by two backwards compatible titles including Tom Clancys Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2.
