The competitive nature of Fortnite Battle Royale sees many playing striving for the highest ranks and kill-counts in the game.
At the end of each season players will see their rank reset to a lower level so that they can continue to climb them again.
If you finish in a high position when the season ends, then you are then likely to begin the next season at a higher level than others.
The end of a season on Fortnite also means the end of the current Battle Pass, players will then be able to unlock new reward items once the newest Battle Pass is released.
When does the Fortnite season end?
Players can expect the current season to end on Tuesday 20th February as this is when the current Battle Pass will finish.
Season 3 of Fortnite is likely to start shortly afterwards, possibly during the next update which is expected to be on Thursday 15th February.
What is a Battle Pass?
Fortnite players can get the Battle Pass to unlock a variety of items that can be used to customise their character including skins, emotes and glider designs.
You get a number of rewards as soon as you get your Battle Pass, but you can unlock plenty more items by leveling up.
Players can do this by completing daily challenges and increasing the level of their player rank by performing well in the game.
This progress then unlocks tiers in the Battle Pass which lets players unlock more rewards.
There are over 65 items that can be obtained during a season of Battle Pass, which Epic Games says can be achieved within 75-150 hours of play.
How to dance in Fortnite
On PS4 and Xbox you press the down button on your controller while in a game, this then gives you the option wheel to select which emote you want to use.
If you are playing on a PC and using a keyboard, then the default button to press is B.
You can then select which emote you want to use by moving the right analogue stick and then press X/A, or you can do this by using the mouse on PC.
If you only have one active emote for your character then you won’t have an option wheel, instead your character will just automatically do your default emote.
