When I was a young boy during the 1970s, as the only grandson in my immediate family, it was my duty to accompany my grandparents and mother to the rituals of ancestor worship during the Qing Ming or Tomb Sweeping festival, which usually falls in the month of April.

I used to enjoy this as it represented an outing for me where I was relieved of all schoolwork and home chores.
