The Division 2 Tidal Basin Release Date revealed with World Tier 5, more endgame content (Pic: Ubisoft)

Ubisoft has confirmed its upcoming content drop for The Division 2 will arrive next Friday, on April 5th.

Dubbed “Invasion: Battle For D.C.” this free expansion adds a fifth Stronghold to the game, pitting Agents against an elite Black Tusk battleforce.

Comparatively, expect something close to the same level and size as the Roosevelt Island stronghold.

Completing the Tidal Base Stronghold will boost players to World Tier 5, populating the map with more challenges and also “Invaded Missions”.

On top of this, Ubi is adding three new gear sets for players to choose from, including: True Patriot, Hardwired, and Ongoing Directive.

Other highlights include a new difficulty tier for mission. Those squaddies really looking to push themselves will be able to play on Heroic, removing respawns while making enemies harder to put down.

Of course, with new gear thrown into the mix, expect the max Gear Score to go up. Invasion: Battle For D.C. will see the cap raised to around 500.

Although it hasnt been confirmed its likely that future content, including The Division 2s upcoming raid, will require Agents to hit this score in order to participate.

Tidal Base will come with balances and bug fixes in tow, as will tomorrows 1.07 title update (expect some maintenance downtime).

Expect Weekly Invasions too, special Invaded Missions which will shell out rewards every week upon completion.

It also marks the first of many free content drops, as outlined by The Division 2's Year 1 roadmap.
