It’s been alleged Joel Taylor passed away this week from a suspected drug overdose.
The Storm Chasers star was found dead in his cabin when the ship docked in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Tuesday, with an autopsy believed to be underway.
However TMZ have reported the reality star died after ‘overdosing’ on party drug GHB.
While there’s no official word on his cause of death, law enforcement informed the website: ‘It appears the death could be an overdose and Joel Taylor was consuming controlled substances.’
Sources claiming to be passengers told the website drugs – thought to include ecstasy and cocaine – on the party boat were ‘plentiful’, while it’s been claimed several people were arrested at the Ft. Lauderdale port for drug possession.
They added: ‘Joel had consumed enough GHB on the dance floor Tuesday that he was rendered unconscious and taken off the dance floor by 2 people and back to his room.’
DJ duo Galantis and Olivia Newton-John performed on the boat, however it’s not clear whether Joel attended these gigs.
Joel, who studied meterology at university, joined the cast of Storm Chasers in 2008. The show was cancelled in 2012 after five series.
He had just welcomed his first niece on 15 January, excitedly announcing the news on his personal Facebook page.
