THQ Nordic has promised new entries in several fan favourite franchises as they buy up the developers of Darksiders III and MotoGP.

After 14 years of waiting, fans should finally be seeing a new sequel to TimeSplitters, as THQ Nordic, who now own the rights to the series, announce that series co-creator is helping to plot the future course of the franchise.
The fact that the series has a future is almost all fans need to know, which is good because thats pretty much all THQ said as part of their latest financial report to investors.
Ellis was a key figure at TimeSplitters original developer Free Radical Design and also worked on the classic GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark at Rare. The talk about a future course, could imply a remaster or remake will come before an actual sequel, but THQ hasnt been that specific so far.

THQ made a number of similarly brief announcements for other franchises, confirming that Volition is working on a new Saints Row game that is the first full entry in the much-loved series since the studio released Saints Row IV in 2013.
Why its taken so long for them to get around to it is a bit of a mystery but they did get side-tracked by flop spin-off Agents Of Mayhem.
And then finally theres news that Ukrainian developer 4A Games is well into development on the next Metro game. Which is no surprise given that the excellent Metro Exodus was the most successful of the series so far.
They also offered a minor update on Dead Island 2, revealing that Deep Silver Dambuster Studios (what remains of Free Radical Design) are now the lead developer for the game. Although exactly how much progress theyve made isnt clear.
Its almost surprising not to hear any news that THQ are buying 4A Game as they seem to do that with most of the other developers theyve worked with, and that now includes Darksiders III creators Gunfire Games and MotoGP and RIDE developer Milestone.
