As Thursdays hearings get underway, President Trump has remained firmly behind his choice of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to replace the vacancy left by retired former Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. However, should Kavanaugh not obtain Senate confirmation, the president “will not sit back,” according to a Wednesday night report from Fox News chief national correspondent Ed Henry.

Leading off “Fox News @ Night” with host Shannon Bream, Henry reported on a call from President Trump to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell during which the president made it clear that, should Kavanaugh lose the vote, Trump “will have a new name to you in one hour.”

WATCH:

“The president was firm in saying he still backs Kavanaugh and wants a Senate vote but interesting, the president made clear, if Kavanaugh goes down, he will not sit back,” Henry reported. “Hes going to fight. He said If Kavanaugh loses, the president told McConnell. I will have a new name to you in one hour. An idea of how quickly they will move with the White House.” (RELATED: KAVANAUGH CONFIRMS TRUMP SUPPORT — HE CALLED ME THIS AFTERNOON)
