Red Dead 2 Online COUNTDOWN: Release Date reveal for PS4, Xbox Multiplayer is Imminent? (Pic: ROCKSTAR)

The Red Dead 2 Online Multiplayer Beta was promised to arrive this week from Rockstar Games when the game initially launched and despite the radio silence we're fairly certain a big announcement is imminent.

Over the weekend a number of high profile Rockstar games influences and websites appeared to visit Rockstar Games HQ in Edinburgh, Scotland.

On their own you might suspect that each individual was simply in the area. But at the same time? We'd wager they got an early taste of whats to come.

The sites in question were Rockstar Intel and GTANet, with both sites seemingly posting pictures of themselves outside the Rockstar HQ.

Although, we wouldn't be surprised if a few others were attending who haven't posted pictures online.

One rather cheeky tweet from Rockstar Intel even teased followers with a picture outside the offices and a message that read:

"This is how close we were to Red Dead Online Yesterday."

Despite concerns that the online mode could get pushed back, we're fairly confident that Red Dead 2 Online is a matter of days away.

And that means leaks and more will be coming thick and fast in the next few days too.

Previously Rockstar Intel have been all over the various leaks for the game, even finding an early image related to the games first online mission only last weekend.

"This time, instead of references – we found an image that belongs to the Intro Sequence of Red Dead Online." writes Ben Walker, head editor for RockstarIntel.

You can take a look at the image on this link, if you want to see it for yourself (we're choosing not to host it here).

But to give you an idea of what the image contains, here's a bit of a breakdown:

The image is titled "Intro" and appears to come from the opening of Red Dead Online.

From what we already know, the first mission from Red Dead 2 Online awards a trophy called "Breakout" when completed.

This first image also shows some characters in the back of a jail wagon. So we would suspect that your online character 'breaks out' of this wagon as the story begins.

The majority of discoveries have often come from Rockstar Intel, who have previously leaked information concerning the use of Properties, Adversary Modes, a "Seamless PvE" mode and Vehicles.

As we said, we already have a fairly fleshed out idea of what Red Dead 2 Online could look like, especially based on what Rockstar have already said in interviews with IGN and others.

However, they might have a few surprises in store. And if it's anything like GTA Online, they'll be adding to it for years to come.
