PS4 VR NEWS: The Sony PlayStation Virtual Reality announcements you missed this week (Pic: Sony)
Taking a leaf out of Nintendos book, this week Sony debuted its “State of Play” broadcast series which included a number of PlayStation updates and announcements.
PSVR was a key focus and to kick things off Sony announced Marvels Iron Man which will only be playable in virtual reality.
The 90-second teaser didnt give too much away though the game looks to be a cross between a first-person shooter and dogfighting game.
Whether it features a completely free Iron Man simulator or an on-rails shooter has yet to be explicitly stated.
That said, developer Camouflaj – whose director worked on games such as Halo 4 and Metal Gear Solid 4 – has stated that the games main goal is to make you feel as though youre genuinely embodying the comic-book character.

Alongside Sonys State of Play, the company also announced that it has now sold 4.2 million PlayStation VR headsets worldwide, that number having doubling in the past 15 months.
The PlayStation 4 has sold 91 million units as of January this year, that means that close to 4% of those who own a console also have PlayStation VR.
Although many speculate that a PSVR 2 is in the pipeline (complete with wireless headset and new motion controllers) for now Sony is focusing on its software lineup.
Having enjoyed a number of successes in 2018 with games such as Astro Bot, Firewall: Zero Hour, and Moss, the publisher is looking to follow up with a diverse spread of VR exclusives as well as games with bonus PSVR support.
Release dates for the following upcoming games were also locked in:
Falcon Age (April 9th), Ghost Giant (April 16th), Everybodys Golf VR (May 21st), Blood & Truth (May 28th), and Trover Saves the Universe (May 31st).
Suffice to say, the PlayStation VR experience is going from strength-to-strength.
