PS Plus January 2019 FREE PS4 Games reveal: Release, leaks, PlayStation Plus predictions (Pic: SONY)

It's that time of the month when PlayStation fans can start dreaming about their next selection of free PS4, PS Vita and PlayStation VR games that come with PS Plus.

Typically PlayStation announces their PS+ games on the last Wednesday of the month, which means we should find out the January 2019 selection on Wednesday, December 26th. Boxing Day!

In the past Sony has usually announced these titles at around 4.30pm BST in the UK, with the games officially going live on the PSN store next week on the first Tuesday of the month.

For reference, the first Tuesday in January will be Tuesday 1st, which is also New Year's Day. How's that for a good start to the year!

Unlike the famous November line up, though, there are no leaks just yet to suggest what games might be free in January, but it's quite plausible that we'll see something leaked between now and Wednesday, so stay tuned for updates in the meantime.

As for what games could be free, it's potluck. Sony does have good form with giving away some of their older PlayStation exclusives, but there's certainly no guarantee of seeing the likes of Killzone 3, The Order 1886, The Last of Us 2 Remastered or any of the past Uncharted releases.

Despite this, there's still plenty of offers available to PlayStation 4 owners right now.

This isn't the first free PlayStation Plus gear that PS4 users have been able to obtain, with the console previously releasing the exclusive Blue Striker Outfit and the exclusive Blue Team Leader skin.

The official PlayStation PSN store description for this third PlayStation exclusive skin reads:

"Grab an outfit, a back bling and an emoji to represent your Victory Royale in style with the PlayStation Plus Celebration Pack."

So to reiterate, players will receive:

• The Prodigy skin
• Tabulator back bling
• A 2D 'Pizza' emoticon

The only thing missing, it seems, is a glider, but it's worth noting that the most recent update, included a leak for a 'Paper Plane' glider that seems to match this outfit.

What are the FREE PlayStation Plus games, right now?

The December 2018 titles are now live and it's yet another good month to be a PS Plus subscriber.

What is PlayStation Plus?

For the sake of anyone who hasn't opted into Sony's incredible PlayStation Plus service at the dirt cheap price of £6.99 a month – Or £49.99 for the year / £19.99 for three months.

Here's what you get:

• Access to online multiplayer on your PlayStation 4
• Exclusive discounts at PlayStation Store
• Share Play – so your friends can play your games even if they don't own a copy themselves
• 10GB of cloud storage for your PS4 game saves

More important than any of that is the fact Sony give away 24 PS4 games a year, completely free. And on top of that, a whole host of PS3 and PS Vita games as well, just to sweeten the deal.

So, when you think about it, signing up to PlayStation Plus is a bit of a no-brainer, really.
