Pokemon Go Fest Dortmund – Update 1:

Another Mythical Pokemon has been added to Pokemon Go – but seemingly only for players in Dortmund for now.

Fans were delighted when Jirachi appeared as part of Go Fest in Chicago this year.

And now it would seem German Pokemon Go players can catch him for themselves.

At the Pokemon GO Fest in Dortmund fans have been told they can “wake up a Mysterious Pokemon”.

You can read everything we know about the appearance of Jirachi in our dedicated 'How to get Jirachi' page.

Good luck if you're out in Germany for the event!

Original Story:

Niantic is hosting the European Pokemon Go Fest today, and as a result, players all over the world get to benefit from the bonuses players in the region benefit from.

Whilst there are region-specific benefits to players in the German city (Magnezone raids, anyone?) there are also benefits that you can benefit from, no matter where in the world you are.

We've already reported on the increased rate of Shiny Nidoran (M) that's been added to the game as of 9am this morning (UK time), but there appear to be many more updates in the game since.

Niantic has also confirmed that Pokemon spawning in Dortmund will also be available worldwide once the event is live (so, effectively, from now until Sunday). Pokemon featured in the tweet embedded below are included in this increased spawn rate.

Information coming out of the Pokemon Go Fest Dortmund is a little sketchy, but we've collated what we can to offer up the Field Research challenges and rewards from the event.

Take a look at what information we've gathered so far.

Pokemon Go Fest Dortmund – Field Research

The special Field Research tasks that have gone live in Dortmund for Pokemon Go Fest are now available worldwide.

We're still in the middle of piecing these myriad tasks and rewards together, but as far as we can tell, there is a specific pool of Pokemon and a specific pool of tasks. That means completing any one task will not grant you one specific Pokemon. This means the Go Fest tasks operate slightly different from other tasks we see in the game day-to-day.

Go Fest research tasks we've seen so far include (via r/TheSilphRoad):

And the Pokemon pool we've been able to decipher so far includes:

  • Feebas

  • Nidoran (male)

  • Scyther

  • Magnemite

  • Meditite

We'll update this page as more information becomes available.
