Pokemon GO creators NEW Harry Potter Wizards Unite trailer for mobile game coming in 2019 (Pic: NIANTIC)
The creators of Pokemon GO, Niantic, last year unveiled plans to release a new game for mobile devices based on the Harry Potter universe.
For the time being the game has been called 'Harry Potter: Wizards Unite'
However, the project, announced as far back as 2017, has been relatively quiet. That is, until recently.
In the last couple of days the website for the game has been updated, a new logo has been shared on social media and now we have the games very first trailer.
Here's a quick bit of info from the trailer description.
"Why are traces of magic appearing in the Muggle world? Enlist immediately to help uphold the Statute of Secrecy and protect the wizarding world!"
And you can take a gander at the trailer itself, just below before we reveal some more info.
For those looking for more info, the official website has also been updated to include more clues as to the direction the new game may take:
“Please resist the urge to panic. Traces of magic are appearing across the Muggle world without warning and in a rather chaotic manner. We worry it is only a matter of time before even the most incurious Muggles catch wind of it.
"We call on all witches and wizards to help contain the Calamity or risk the worst of times since You Know Who. Brush up on your spells, get your wand ready, and enlist immediately.
"The Ministry is looking for witches and wizards willing to roll up their sleeves and volunteer to save the wizarding world from the Calamity.
"As a member of the Statute of Secrecy Task Force (a new task force formed in partnership between the Ministry of Magic and the International Confederation of Wizards) you will hone lightning fast wand reflexes, an ability to sniff out the faintest whiff of magical disorder from afar, and proficiency in advanced casting of multiple spells.”

Harry Potter: Wizards Unite Overview
Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will take J.K Rowlings Wizarding World and turn it into a universe resembling that of Pokemon Go.
The game will use augmented reality (AR) to create a real-world scavenger hunt for magical creatures on your smartphone.
Upon announcing the game, John Hanke, founder and CEO of Niantic, said:
“The beloved Harry Potter stories have captured imaginations worldwide for more than 20 years.
“Soon well turn the fantasy into augmented reality, allowing fans and their friends to become wizards and witches.
The game was originally scheduled to release in 2018, but in the last few days, the Niantic has amended this with a new, and rather broad, release date of 2019.
