Sir Paul McCartney needs to learn that some things are best kept to himself.
The Beatles legend revealed that he was heavily into S&M in front of an audience earlier – but fortunately he was just joking. We hope.
The 76-year-old sat down for a chat with Jarvis Cocker on Wednesday at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts as McCartney, who co-founded the university in his home city in 1996, sat in front of 450 students and a Facebook live stream.
Despite the large audience, McCartney had no qualms (over)sharing about his sex life.
Proving his sharp sense of humour, the musician quipped: Im now heavily into S&M. I grew to like it!
Spare us the details next time, Paul!

Changing the subject – for the better – Cocker later pressed McCartney on his favourite musicians.

Of course, McCartney remained loyal to his former bandmates, stating: Fellow Beatles. John [Lennon], who was pretty cool, and George [Harrison] and Ringo [Starr]. Having worked with John so one-on-one, I got to see his [songs] before the world. Im a big fan.
He continued: When we worked together on something, often what would happen is that whoever would be the creator of this song would bring in the first verse and then wed sit down and wed take it from there. Little things he did were brilliant.
Also on his playlist is Motown icon Stevie Wonder.
More: Paul McCartney
It should come as no surprise that McCartney is in his hometown as the singer is rumoured to be performing a secret gig in Liverpool on Thursday.
The performance will come after McCartney hosted a secret gig in London at the prestigious Abbey Road Studios.
The musician couldnt pass up the opportunity to recreate the Beatles iconic Abbey Road album cover by walking over the street crossing. Special guests at the intimate gig included Stormzy, Kylie Minogue and a small group of fans.
