Paul Hogan is set to return to the big screen, starring as himself in a new movie titled The Very Excellent Mr Dundee.
The film will follow a semi-fictional Hogan as he's about to "receive a knighthood for his services to comedy", an early synopsis from distributor Transmission Films reads.
"'Dont do anything to mess this up,' his manager tells him. However, despite all his best efforts, the next six weeks sees his name and reputation hilariously destroyed," the plotline continues.

The film will see the 78-year-old re-team with NSW filmmaker Dean Murphy, who directed him in his two most recent movies, 2004's Strange Bedfellows and 2009's Charlie & Boots.

No further details about the film's writers or supporting cast have yet been released. But Hogan urged fans to "watch this space as I've been honoured to have many of my friends and colleagues, whose work I adore, agree to join us for this hilarious adventure."
Hogan courted controversy earlier this year after a teased reboot of Crocodile Dundee, featuring US comedian Danny McBride and Thor himself Chris Hemsworth, turned out to be an elaborate Super Bowl ad for Tourism Australia.
McBride, however, who admitted he'd been nervous about the 'prank movie' campaign, recently suggested a new Dundee movie isn't out of the question.
"People wanted to see that movie, so I don't know, maybe it will happen," he told film site Flickering Myth.
"Me and Chris really had a good time making that, so I think we'd be open to doing something together."
The Very Excellent Mr Dundee, to be filmed in Australia, Los Angeles and Vancouver, begins production in July.
