Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2018 COUNTDOWN: Start time, skins, new modes, maps REVEALED (Pic: Blizzard)
Overwatch's annual Winter Wonderland event is due to start tomorrow.
The recurring event is a cause of celebration for gamers, because as well as introducing more festive-themed skins into the game, we also get to play a brand new game mode for a few weeks, too.
The next Overwatch Christmas event has a December 11 launch date on PS4, Xbox One and PC, and ahead of the event launching, we're collecting everything we know so far about the event so you can get excited with us here.
When does Overwatch Winter Wonderland 2018 start?
This year's Overwatch Christmas event has a December 11 launch date on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
If the event subscribes to the timing of past Overwatch events, we're likely to see the event start at 6pm on December 11th.
Previous Winter Wonderland events ended on January 3 (2016) and January 2 (2017).
So we can expect this event to continue until a similar time this year, too, giving you plenty of time to get your festive rewards.

What will be included in Winter Wonderland 2018?
We seem to be getting more and more content every year when it comes to recurring seasonal events.
Last year, we saw the game include:
• 19 skins
• 5 emotes
• 15 victory poses
• 52 voice lines
• 59 sprays
• 3 highlight intros
• 36 player icons

So, as well as these being made available again for 2018's event, we're also likely to see more seasonal items added.
We've already seen Blizzard announce five skins we can expect to see: Snowboarder Zarya, Sugar Plum Fairy Mercy, Biathalon Widowmaker, Arctic Fox Lucio and Gift Wrap Bastion (you can see these skins embedded throughout this page).
We've also seen teases about a Mouse King Junkrat skin thanks to some Blizzard gear leaks, too.
You can absolutely expect more seasonal skins to come, too – maybe about 9 or 10, overall.

What modes will be added for Winter Wonderland 2018?
Meis Snowball Offensive may be returning this year.
The 6-v-6 game mode is essentially a giant snowball fight in which Mei's primary weapon only has one fire. The plus side is that it only takes one hit to kill an enemy.
Mei's Ultimate unleashes an infinite flurry of snowballs, but only for a brief time.
Then there's the Yeti Hunter mode, which pits five characters against one Winston in asymmetric multiplayer battles.
"The Yeti must gather meat to unlock a powerful rage ability adding immunity to freeze and more powerful bonuses," Blizzard explains.
We don't currently know which map these modes will take place on, but we're betting we're going to see festive versions of Black Forest, Kings Row, and Hanamura edited for winter.

How Much Will Skins (old and new) Cost?
During returning Overwatch events, old skins were available to unlock via the credits system.
As an added bonus, the old skins introduced previously were also available at a slightly cheaper price.
For example, during the second Summer Games event, past skins cost 1,000 credits, instead of the 3,000 credits it usually takes to unlock limited Legendary skins. Whilst new skins were sold at 3,000 credits.
New Summer Games 2017 cosmetic items were valued at 3,000 for Legendary Skins, 750 credits for Epic skins, 225 credits for Rare tier items and 75 credits for common tier items.
Thats compared to returning Legendary skins at 1,000 credits, Epic skins for 250 credits and rare tier items for 75 credits and Common tier items for just 25 credits.
We suspect and assume Blizzard will use a similar structure for the new and returning skins and items for this Halloween Terror event.
