Overwatch LEGO Sets: Release Date news, 2019 Pre-Order rumours, latest minifigures updates

Activision confirmed the released of Overwatch LEGO back in May.

Blizzard are teaming up with the LEGO Company to a toy-brick version of the popular shooter game.

The games publisher is attempting to expand its Overwatch merchandising programme, after a recent successful collaboration with Nerf for a number of themed toy guns for release next year.

The popular multiplayer game was developed by Blizzard Entertainment for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, but the LEGO sets will no doubt add to fans incredible collection of merchandise for the game.

Release Date

LEGO has created an Overwatch-themed sub site, but has not offered any hint as to when the release will be.

At the time of writing the site is blank, showing only the LEGO and Overwatch logos, coupled with the tagline: Lets get this moving!

Below it says: LEGO Overwatch – Coming Soon.

However, there have been many rumours about the possible release date for these highly sought-after toys.

According to Brick Fanatics, the first LEGO Overwatch sets will be released in January 2019.

The website also has a 2019 copyright watermark on it.

This could suggest the year we will see it launch.

Brick Fanatics also suggest the launch could be teamed up with the start of a new Overwatch TV series.

And according to rumours, the Overwatch TV show could be coming to Netflix.

Potential Sets

Brick Fanatics believe there will be six traditional mini figure sets.

There may also be a “supporting range of minifigure-focused packs with key accessories”.

According to an earlier press release, Lego is expected to release a few different sets “across various price points”.

When speaking about details about the upcoming project in May, Senior Lego Designer Mark Stafford said it could be a “month or three” before they could share details.

This could mean we will hear more soon in the lead up to Christmas.
