HALLOWEEN SKINS UPDATE 3
Blizzard has this evening unveiled their third Halloween Event skin in the form of Spider Widowmaker with a new catchy tagline:
"I will haul them into my web."
The new Epic skin will be available next week when the Overwatch Halloween Terror event begins on October 9.
Take a closer look at the new skin on the embedded video below.
HALLOWEEN SKINS UPDATE 2
We're expecting Blizzard to announce another new skin later today, in keeping with the theme we've seen Blizzard support so far: more scary things.
We saw the developer reveal new Doomfist and Moira skins over the last few days at 3pm – so in theory, we'll see another new skin announced today, too.
The 3pm deadline for the has now passed – so we could see a new skin drop at any time… possibly at 6pm.
We'll keep updating you as we pass these milestones.

HALLOWEEN SKINS UPDATE 1
As expected, Blizzard last night announced the first new Overwatch Halloween Terror Skin for the upcoming 2018 event.
The first new Legendary Skin is for Doomfist which transforms him into a Swamp Monster in a tweet which reads:
"Just keep swimming. Make a splash as SWAMP MONSTER DOOMFIST (Legendary)!"
And in fact whilst writing this Blizzard have unveiled their SECOND Halloween Terror Skin with a new Legendary costume for Moira.
The tweet confirming this went live read:
"An ominous portent. Haunt down your enemies as BANSHEE MOIRA (Legendary)!"
It's worth reminding fans that Doomfist's Legendary Swamp Monster skin won't be available until the Halloween Terror event starts on October 9th. You'll only be able to unlock it during the event, so once Halloween Terror ends you'll no longer be able to get it.
It's possible we could see yet more skins revealed by Blizzard later tonight as per our previous suggestions.
ORIGINAL STORY – Overwatch fans are getting themselves ready for a spooky October and the beginning of the new Overwatch Halloween Terror 2018 Event starting October 9th.
Blizzard confirmed the start date for the seasonal event earlier this week with a cryptic message that simply read:
"Theres a rumor among explorers
About a monolithic lair
Home to terrifying horrors
Heroes, how will you prepare?"
Then, the video also revealed the official start and end times. But obviously, the one thing people are most interested in seeing are those new skins.
Well, thankfully, we might not have to wait that much longer for them to arrive. And best of all, we might not have to rely on rubbish leaks and off-screen pictures.
Keep reading and let us explain.
This year, Overwatch events have become less and less 'leaky' and part of that is to do with Blizzard just straight up revealing the new skins ahead of time.
So rather than seeing a new Winston skin leak on some Chinese website banner or what not, they've just released a picture or video of the new skin.
And judging from the last event, the Summer Games, we could see some new skins revealed TONIGHT.
The Summer games began on the 9th of August, but importantly, Blizzard also started tweeting out small video clips showing the new skins from the 4th August. It began with a new D.Va Skin,
This was followed the next day by Gridironhardt, and then Catcher Winston the next day, and CABANA ANA the day after. We think you get where we're headed with this.
With a little over than 5 days until the event is scheduled to begin, we should start seeing our first skin teasers this evening. Likely, at around 1am BST

So far, an achievements menu on the Public Test Realm for the game has revealed what skins we could be seeing in the game.
The image (which you can see above) has six icons that could potentially reveal which characters will get new threads.
User McManus26 on Reddit has some theories on what these new skins could be, which we've included below:
Top Left:
Scarecrow Hammond. This icon is very similar to Wrecking Ball's default icon. The skin could also be named "Ghost", one of the recently leaked legendary names, but he's not the only contender.
Top Middle
Brigitte or Moira. My money is on Brigitte with a different hairpiece/tiara to hold her bangs rather than her trademark pins. Could also be "Ghost", or "Spider Queen" if the hairpiece is indeed a tiara, even if I'm naturally inclined to think a spider skin would go to Widowmaker.
Top Right:
Winston. I've heard some Doomfist speculation on this one, but Winston is the only one to have his big monkey nose included in his player icons. Looks a bit like the Creature of the Black Lagoon ?

Bottom left
Knight Pharah. The shape of the helmet is exactly the same. Pharah is also a character that wears armor, and could easily get a fun medieval twist – while Brigitte and Reinhardt are already medieval themed, which would make a skin following that theme a bit pointless.
Bottom Middle
Slasher Soldier:76. Between the facemask theme, the scar across the face and the similar hairstyle, this one is the most obvious. The leaked "slasher" is obviously a Friday the 13th reference.
Bottom Right
Bride Sombra between the similar haircut, the dual highlight in the hair (which I think is what spawned this skin to begin with : Sombra already had 2 bride-like strikes in her hair) and the coat collar, it's a lot of hints towards Sombra.
Conclusion
As an afterthought, it seems they are going with a "Classic horror movies" theme this year. The Slasher and Bride skins are the most obvious to support this, but the scarecrow could be from the TV classic "Dark Night of the Scarecrow", and of course if Winston is indeed the Black Lagoon creature then he would represent the timeless Universal Monsters.
