Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen have given a rare interview for the launch of their new menwear range.
Its unusual for the two to open up about their private lives, despite having grown up in movies and TV, but Mary-Kate and Ashley have given a little insight into what its like to have someone to share your success – its like being married, apparently.
Speaking to WSJ Magazine, Ashley explained their special bond.
Its been 32 years of learning how to communicate, Ashley said, comparing their relationship to a marriage and a partnership. We have had ups and downs. We do everything together.
We came out of the womb doing that, Mary-Kate added.
That includes arguing like a married couple – they divulged that they spent six months disagreeing on the handles on their Margaux bag, one wanted them to be on the inside while the other wanted them to be on the outside.
And, like any good married couple, they ended up compromising, and produced both versions.

Speaking of their success, Ashley put it down to their fiercely private attitudes.
Were not product pushers, she said. I dont know if its because of the way we grew up—we just dont like talking about ourselves or talking about what were doing…Its not really our approach.

The two decided to create their new menswear collection for their label The Row with the idea of being able to dress the husbands of their female shoppers. And it was important for them to get right.
We spent a year really figuring out the fit of the suit, Ashley explained.
Mary-Kate added: Single-breasted, double-breasted, tuxedo.
They debated over the rise of the trousers, with Mary-Kate explaining the year-long chat was over millimetres, while Ashley said the final result was quite sexy.
Mary-Kate is now married to French banker Olivier Sarkozy and lives in New York City, while Ashley is contemplating moving to LA.
