Shania Twains week is off to a less than stellar beginning.
After an interview with the UKs Guardian went viral Sunday evening, the Canadian country singer received a considerable amount of Twitter backlash for saying she would have voted for Trump in 2016.
In full, Twain said:
I would have voted for him because, even though he was offensive, he seemed honest. Do you want straight or polite? Not that you shouldnt be able to have both. If I were voting, I just dont want bulls*t. I would have voted for a feeling that it was transparent. And politics has a reputation of not being that, right?
After getting publicly flogged by the thought police on Twitter for a few hours, poor Shania issued a four-part apology for her views. (RELATED: Shania Twain Apologizes For Voicing Trump Support)
“I am passionately against discrimination of any kind and hope its clear from the choices I have made, and the people I stand with, that I do not hold any common moral beliefs with the current President,” she said in part.
But Jalen Rose has had enough of Shania Twain. In a since-deleted Twitter rant, the ESPN analyst slammed Twain in a video captioned, “Welcome to the Walk of Shame, Shania Twain.”
“Im looking at Shania Twains Twitter account and shes doing a lot of apologizing for chiming in on the United State presidential election and she said she would have voted for the current President because he was trustworthy even though he was offensive. And then you know what she did after that? She apologized. And apologized again. And apologized again. To the point where, Im tired of reading her apologies.”
Its getting to the point where every celebrity who slams Shania Twain only amplifies the already-white noise on Twitter. Jalen Roses criticism is no different from all the other whiners on Twitter. And somehow, no take has changed the world yet.
