Is PlayStation down and when will it be back up?

Players have taken to Twitter after experiencing problems logging into their PlayStation Network accounts this morning.

Sony did announce plans for the console to undergo maintenance between Monday and today, but there was expected to be too much major interruption.

In the announcement sony did say ‘All other network functionality, including online gameplay and PS Store, will remain accessible during this maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience.’

The server issues have arrived just as players have gained access to free downloads of Bloodborne + Ratchet and Clank as part of the March PS Plus offer.

Is PSN down?

Although PlayStation hasn’t addressed the problems on Twitter so far, the official PlayStation website has confirmed that there are currently some server issues.

Problems are preventing players from logging into their PSN account and this includes affecting account management, PlayStation Video and the PlayStation Store.

The website says ‘You may have some difficulty signing in or creating an account on PlayStation™Network. Our engineers are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible, and we thank you for your patience.’

When will the PlayStation Network be back up?

There is currently no estimate for when the online severs will resume, but check back here for updates.

Update: Most users have now started to report PSN returning to normal and the PlayStation server status page indicates that everything should now be running normally.

What games are in the March PS Plus?

This month the main titles that players can enjoy are Bloodborne and Ratchet and Clank.

Bloodborne is an incredibly popular PS4 exclusive and it has proven popular with fans ever since its release in 2015.

It is a game that we described as one of the best action games of the generation and a stunning achievement in terms of gameplay

Similarly, the Ratchet and Clank remake was a huge success with improved graphics and fun action.
