Is PlayStation down and when will it be back up?

Players have taken to Twitter after experiencing problems logging into their PlayStation Network accounts this morning.

Sony did announce plans for the console to undergo maintenance between Monday and today, but there was expected to be too much major interruption.

In the announcement sony did say ‘All other network functionality, including online gameplay and PS Store, will remain accessible during this maintenance. We apologize for any inconvenience.’

The server issues have arrived just as players have gained access to free downloads of Bloodborne + Ratchet and Clank as part of the March PS Plus offer.
