DORTMUND, Germany — German Economy Minister Peter Altmaier fell at a digital policy conference on Tuesday morning and was taken to hospital for treatment.
The 61-year-old minister lost consciousness for several minutes after stumbling and falling from the stage, according to an eyewitness. He also suffered a broken nose, according to German media reports.
Some hours later, Altmaier tweeted that he had not sustained serious injuries.
“After the frightening moments after my fall, I was very well treated in the Dortmund clinic by expert personnel,” he said. “Apart from bruises and cuts, apparently nothing serious.”
