The next batch of Xbox One Games with Gold titles for July 2019 should be unveiled this week, but before you can start downloading that sweet selection of free games, you should probably jump on Microsoft's amazing subscription offer before it's too late.
At E3 2019 Xbox announced they would be rolling out Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to all users. This was first unveiled during the April Inside Xbox stream, but it has only been available to select users.
Essentially it bundles Xbox Live (including games with gold) and Xbox Games Pass, into one handy subscription, also at a slightly smaller price point.
Additionally, the new Xbox Game Pass for PC subscription is also included with Game Pass Ultimate.
However, in another example of Microsoft being ultra generous, the company also announced that to celebrate the service's wider launch, anyone who signs up can take advantage of an introductory offer which will get you the first month for £1. That's £9.99 cheaper than the standard cost of £10.99.
As with all things though, there is a catch and as with any great deal, it comes to an end soon, with this £1 offer only valid for another 11 days. After that time, you'll have to pay top price.
So if we were you, we'd consider upgrading now, that way you can take advantage of any existing Games with Gold deals in June as well as those coming in July in a few days time.
Thankfully you also don't need to worry about what to do if you already have prepaid subscriptions – Xbox Live/Xbox Game Pass – on your account already.
During testing, Microsoft honoured the prepaid months of Xbox Game Pass and Live Gold with free months of Ultimate instead.
The same appears to apply to those looking to take up Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
The following message (below) is taken from the Insider FAQ which gives as good an explanation on how this works:
"As an Insider benefit, when you join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to give feedback, we will apply any prepaid time you have on Xbox Live Gold, Xbox Game Pass or both toward Xbox Game Pass Ultimate up to a maximum of 36-months … For example, if you have 3-months of Xbox Live Gold and 3-months of Xbox Game Pass already in your account and join Ultimate as an Insider, you will be charged $1 for your first month. For subsequent months we will apply 6-months toward your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (up to a maximum of 36-months)."
The new subscription should set you on the path to some great games available for free through Xbox Games with Gold, and plenty more must-play titles which have been added to Xbox Game Pass.
As we mentioned previously, if you take out the subscription now you'll also have plenty of time to download the existing Xbox Games with Gold titles which will be available until June 30th.
