Fortnite Battle Royale and Save the World players would be right to assume that this morning Epic Games would release a new update, perhaps in the form of a new v6.30 Content Update.
Last week, Epic Games returned to rolling out their regular weekly updates on Wednesday, just as they'd done in the past, but it's possible that the games next update could be delayed to Wednesday once again, rather than returning to the traditional Tuesday release.
It's not entirely clear why the game has delayed the next update again, but it's possible that it has something to do with the ongoing Fortnitemares event.
The new Halloween themed event still has one more set of Challenges to release and it's plausible that Epic are waiting to release this before the games next update.
Especially after the debacle over the weekend where one of the games Fortnitemares event started dolling out Battle Stars in their hundreds for relatively simple challenges.
It's likely if there is to be a new update on Wednesday that Epic Games will announce the news later today, most likely this evening.
And when it does arrive you can probably expect there to be some server downtime and new patch notes for the game.
In fact we already have an idea as to one of the many changes we will see after an in-game notification revealed a new item coming to the game: Balloons!
"Inflate balloons to defy gravity!" reads an Epic post. "Add balloons to increase your altitude!"
It seems as though the Balloons might allow players to float above the Battlefield. Which when combined with the new glider feature could render the jump pads pretty much useless (which they already are currently to an extent).
For now, we should see one more set of Forenitemare challenges later today, but if you keep reading you can get a quick rundown of the existing challenges available now.

- Destroy Cube Monsters
- Deal damage with Assault Rifles or Pistols to Cube Monsters
- Visit a Corrupted Area in different matches
- Dance at different Gargoyles
Fortnitemares challenges 2:
- Destroy Cube Fiends (150) – 500XP
- Deal damage with Shotguns or SMGs to Cube Monsters (5,000) – 500XP
- Eliminate Opponents in Corrupted Areas (3) – 500XP
- Destroy a Ghost Decoration in Different Named Locations (7) – 500XP
