Two elementary school students were taken to a Washington, D.C., hospital for a possible overdose, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.
A student brought an “unidentified substance to school and shared it with other students,” Patterson Elementary School officials said, Fox 5 reported. Four students in total were affected, but only two of them needed to be taken to the hospital.
The substance was most likely, “some kind of sleeping pill” and the students are in “stable condition,” a Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson told The Daily Caller News Foundation.
“Following proper protocols, we immediately contacted Emergency Medical Services, and the students have been referred to the appropriate medical officials,” the school said in a written statement.
