Borderlands 3 was unveiled last week at PAX East and Randy Pitchford had promised more news for the new game to come this week when they reveal the games release date.
The Game has been in development for five years and whilst the gameplay reveal looked impressive, all fans want to know is how much longer they're going to have to wait before they can get stuck into the game for reals.
Fans naturally started scouring the trailer for every conceivable detail they could find for clues that might point towards a date they can mark in their diaries.
One fan even cobbled together a pretty reliable theory based on a few choice shots from the trailer.
Reddit user Zottelpanda believes the game is coming October 1, as at 1:39, 1:40, and 1:52 in the trailer we can see some numbers (10 + 1) displayed on a couple of pretty sizeable buildings.
Of course, this could all be a complete coincidence. Thankfully though, we don't have to wait too much longer to learn the release date.
And that's a promise direct from the, err, tweet, of Randy Pitchford.
Shortly after Gearbox revealed the game at PAX Pitchford was on hand to answer a few questions from fans online and in one he revealed when we'll learn more about the game.
One fan simply asked:
"Any chance you'll be giving us a release date soon? :>"
To which the Gearbox CEO replied:
"The release date will be locked in and revealed on April 3."
So there you have it. Wednesday, that's when you'll learn how much longer you have left to wait until the cel-shaded looter-shooter returns to your console.
Beyond this, there's little else we know about Borderlands 3 beyond a few trailer observations.
