Bella Thorne has supported Taylor Swifts petition urging the US government to pass the Equality Act, and has spoken in support of teaching children more about it at a younger age.

The former Disney Channel star, who came out as bisexual back in 2016 before dating YouTuber Tana Mongeau, shared a snap of an article headlined: Bella Thorne backing Taylor Swifts LGBTQ Petition.

”We need to teach kids in schools, change their upbringing, change mindset from a young age. You cant just tell a person that the religion that theyre raised in, everything they know about the world, everything that their parents have ever told them, its all lies,” she captioned it.

Unfortunately the fact [is] that there is no actual schooling course that teaches, like, more about you mentally, depression, this, that.” Thoughts from #thelifeofawannabemogul.

She added to The Hollywood Reporter about Taylors petition: I think that thats an amazing idea. A hundred percent. Sign it away, let me sign it.

However, shes sceptical about the government changing, saying: In my personal opinion, do I think the government will change? No, I dont. I think theyre f***ing f***ers. And no matter what we say and do, unless we start a literal revolution in a sense and unfortunately those always take violence to ever be heard … the government is never going to change.”

The 21-year-old has been open about her sexuality, claiming earlier this year that she lost out on a movie role due to being LGBT.

In an interview with The Gay Times magazine, Bella said: There were a few places on the acting side that were very negative about it. There was someone who, right after I came out, cancelled my audition.

According to The Babysitter star, its not been as explicit as someone telling her: Youre gay so Im not going to hire you, but she has felt peoples behaviour towards her change.

Bellas comments come after the Taylor, ! songstress shared a plea to senators for LGBT equality, while slamming Donald Trump.

She told her fans: Our countrys lack of protection for its own citizens ensures that LGBTQ people must live in fear that their lives could be turned upside down by an employer or landlord who is homophobic or transphobic.

The fact that, legally, some people are currently at the mercy of the hatred and bigotry of others is disgusting and unacceptable.
