Actor Gerard Depardieu has been accused of rape and sexual assault by a French actress in her twenties, reports say.
The 69-year-old French actors lawyer told AFP news agency he absolutely disputes the allegations.
His lawyer told France Info radio: I had a long meeting with Gerard Depardieu and I am absolutely convinced his innocence will be established.
According to Le Parisien, the Paris prosecutors office has begun a preliminary investigation for rape and sexual assault against the film star.
Its claimed the accusations were reported to police in Lambesc, southern France on August 27, alleging she was abused twice by the actor within Depardieus Parisian home on Tuesday 7 and Monday 13 August.

The accuser is reportedly known to Depardieu before the incident occurred, and was giving her professional advice.
Gerard is known for his performances in films like The Last Metro, Police, Kenneth Branaghs Hamlet and more recently, Ang Lees Life Of Pi in 2012.
Hes also stared in Cyrano de Bergerac and Jean de Florette.
