The images sparked immediate outrage. Jeremy Lam wrote on Twitter “My culture is NOT your goddamnn prom dress.”

Daum says she received a great amount of hatred online for the tweet but is unrepentant. In an interview with the Daily Wire, Daum said shed still wear that dress if she had to do it all over again.

“Daum also indicated that the overwhelming majority of the negative feedback she has received has been online and that in real life people have been very kind and supportive of her,” the Daily Wire wrote.

Daum sent a message in the midst of the outrage that read, “To everyone causing so much negativity: I mean no disrespect to the Chinese culture. Im simply showing my appreciation to their culture. Im not deleting my post because Ive done nothing but show my love for the culture. Its a fucking dress. And its beautiful.”

Daum told Fox news in a recent interview that she thought the dress was “beautiful.
