But in terms of everything so far the biggest seller is not Kingdom Hearts III, Resident Evil 2, or Days Gone but Tom Clancys The Division 2.
Which on the face of it seems surprising, given the games seemingly lukewarm reception, especially in terms of its popularity on Twitch and general visibility, and the fact that on launch Ubisoft themselves said that console sales had failed to meet their expectations.
Ubisoft made the annoucement as part of their latest financial results, so theyd be in deep legal trouble if they were massaging the figures, and it underlines just how difficult it is nowadays to tell how a game has actually performed – given that physical sales only tell a small part of the story.

The Division 2 is an Epic Games Store exclusive but the divisive online store upset fans so much that Ubisoft saw sales on their own Uplay store increase tenfold, when compared to the original.
As a result, Ubisoft saw record highs in terms of player engagement and sales of season passes, which will have proven especially profitable.
