The Division 2 DOWN – Update 4 Patch Notes, Release Date Server Maintenance, Gunner News (Pic: UBISOFT)
The Division 2 Servers are down this morning whilst developers over at Ubisoft Massive prepare for the games Title Update 4 release.
This has been previously available for testing on the games PTR, but today it makes its way to live servers on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
A message on the Ubisoft official Division Twitter account reads:
"The servers will shut down for maintenance Tuesday, June 18th 09:30 AM CEST / 03:30 AM EDT / 12:30 AM PDT," Ubisoft explains. "Estimated downtime is approximately 3 hours.
"We will be deploying Title Update 4 during this maintenance. Patch notes will become available during the downtime."
This downtime will affect players on all platforms but should be back online by roughly 11.30am BST (of course, this information is subject to change thanks to the nature of the beast with online games).
The games biggest addition today will be the new character Specialization – known as The Gunner.
Our Division 2 go-to guy Jim Hargreaves has suggested that the game is the games "first proper tank class" and will come equipped with a hench mini gun.
We're instantly getting Jesse Ventura vibes from The Predator and if the game doesn't add some gear to look like the retired professional wrestler we might have to start one of those petitions (joking).
Read on for more details about The Gunner Specialization and also some preliminary patch notes shared by the Ubisoft Team on both the forums and the games official Sub-Reddit.
The Gunner Specialisation
"Joining the fight together with the other Specialists, The Gunner is equipped with the powerful Minigun, which will be a force to be reckoned with on the streets of Washington, D.C," Ubisoft explains.
"With an emphasis on sustained damage output and damage resilience, the Gunner will serve as the vanguard of SHD Agents in the ongoing fight to reclaim the city.
"When activated, The Gunner receive bonus armour based on the amount of Specialization ammunition they are carrying and can easily tank incoming damage for short periods of time while using their Minigun to suppress their enemies. There's a catch though – when the weapon is drawn, the Gunner can't enter cover, vault or roll."
Title Update 4 Patch Notes Preview
• Once the Gunner arrives on live servers, you'll be sent on a Special Field Research assignment to unlock it.
• The Gunner employs new tactics like the Banshee special and Riot Foam grenades.
• You can immediately unlock the Gunner if you've got the Year 1 Pass. Don't forget, you'll also be able to do Special Field Research that unlocks unique cosmetic items.
• New UI elements are coming for specialization ammunition. Here's how to earn them:
• Your agent's life bar that will fill slowly. But, headshots, killing enemies effected by status, and additional Specialization actions will help fill that bar more quickly
• Ammunition will be easier to track and appear less randomly.
• Specialization trees are getting a rework. Expect to see new nerfs, buff, and changes.
• Any specialization can now pick any weapon to spec into. You're no longer bound to specific weapons with specific specializations.
• Generic gear mod slots have been added and a "like-for-like" system has been introduced. This allows for more streamlined, more visual modification.
• Non-toggle Rogue has returned to the Occupied Dark Zone.

These are only some highlighted changes – you'll need to wait for the official patch notes to see the full list of changes.
Gunner Specialization
Specialization 4 – Gunner
The Gunner is all about sustained fire and being able to tank damage.
This is the first instance of a heavy weapon.
You cant shoot the weapon in cover and once equipped you cant roll or sprint with it.
The Gunner has a Riot Foam Grenade as the special grenade
The Gunner will also restock the team with bullets
You can earn Signature Ammo by killing two enemies in one continues firing burst.
Pulse Variant – Banshee
This Variant is exclusive to the new Gunner Specialization
This Variant applies „confused“ to any of the NPCs within its cone – even when the NPC is in cover. You can also charge the skill for more effect.
In PVP the skill adds disruptive to the other players so that they cant use their skills.
In PVP you get a notification if the skill gets activated and it is also telegraphed.
Special Field Research
=> Overview
The Special Field Research will task you with a number of in-game challenges that upon completion will unlock the new Specialization. Year 1 Pass owners will automatically unlock the Gunner, but they can still complete the Special Field Research and earn unique cosmetic rewards.

Specialization Update
Skill Tree Rework
The spec tree sidearms go now all the way up to GS500.
The signature weapons now auto upgrade their damage to the current world tier. There are still nodes to spec into more damage for the challenge and heroic content.
The Skill Trees of the Sharpshooter, Demolitionist, and Survivalist have been extended so that you can unlock buffs for any weapon Archetype.
But from all the Archetype, you can only buff three weapons at the same time, so take your pick.
Only with the weapon that is associated with a spec, you also get the weapon mod.
TAC 50 and the Crossbow got a damage buff and the Crossbow will now more reliably crack the armor piece that it hit.
Ammo Bar: The new way to get Signature Weapon Ammunition
=> Ammo Bar
The goal was to make the Special Ammo drops less random.
Now you have a new Signatur Weapon Ammo Bar that will fill up slowly – but headshots, explosive kills, killing enemies under status effects and additional Specialization actions will help you fill that bar more quickly.
Once the bar is full, you are rewarded with special ammo.
