Diagrams of a peculiar-looking piece of Sony hardware have appeared online and are probably of the devkit used to make new PS5 games.

There is a small chance that what youre looking at here is the design for the PlayStation 5, but considering how hilariously ugly and overdesigned it is we dont think thats likely.

More probably its the PlayStation 5 dev kit (development kit), which is the specially modified version of the console used by developers to create games on.

Why it needs such huge fans on the side is a mystery, but there is a chance that its nothing to do with PlayStation 5 at all – since the patent simply doesnt say.

The illustrations were discovered by Dutch website LetsGoDigital, who are similarly unable to tell exactly what it is.

The V-shaped indent could be construed as the Roman numeral for five though, which brings to mind the devkit for the original Xbox which was just a big X.
