R Kelly's crisis manager has quit hours after saying he would not leave his daughter alone "with an accused paedophile".
Darrell Johnson described the singer as a "mess" and said he believed he was on suicide watch in an interview with CBS This Morning.
The manager said in a text to CNN that he had stepped down for "personal reasons" and believed Kelly would be in "good hands" with his lawyer, Steve Greenberg.
Johnson's resignation came after he told CBS host Gayle King he "wouldn't leave my daughter with anybody that's accused of paedophilia".
But Johnson appeared to defend Kelly during the interview, saying he was "scared" and "isolated".

R Kelly has faced allegations of sexual misconduct – which he has repeatedly denied – for years and has now been indicted on 18 counts, which include sexual exploitation of a child and kidnapping.
Five of the counts have been levied in New York and 13 in Illinois.

Last week, the 52-year-old was refused bail after a prosecutor said the singer still posed a danger to young girls.
Assistant US attorney Angel Krull told a court: "If he was attracted to middle school girls in 1999 then he's still attracted to middle school girls.
"That's who the defendant is and that, your honour, makes him a danger today."
She added: "He can entice victims to his own home."
