PS4 Games News: Great news for Marvel's Spider-Man, Days Gone, Medievil and The Last of Us (Pic: SONY)
Sony PS4 fans have been spoilt for choice this year with not one, but two exceptional PlayStation 4 exclusives.
Firstly with the God of War reboot at the start of the year and more recently with the release of Marvels Spider-Man, which has also just launched a new slice of DLC.
But the time has come for Sony to start planning further afield and that's what the company has started to do in recent weeks.
In fact, one particular PS4 exclusive you might have forgotten about, Medievil Remastered, is supposedly set to reveal some new news in the coming weeks.
Which, given we've heard absolutely nothing in almost a year since it was first announced is a pretty big deal.
Speaking on the latest PlayStation Blogcast, social media director Sid Shuman said he had it on “excellent authority” that SIE Worldwide Studios boss Shawn Layden would provide an update on the game soon.
“Hes very excited to give everybody a big update on Medievil,” Shuman said. “Hes going to be on the [PlayStation Blogcast] in the next week or so, and give us all an update on that.”
Looking further afield and PS4 owners were dealt something of a blow as another PS4 first-party game, Days Gone, had been pushed back from February 22 2019 to April 26 2019.
Supposedly, developers Bend Studio will use the additional time to add some extra polish to the game.
"We want to share a change in release date for this highly anticipated title from Bend Studio," read the Sony blog post. "We recently decided to move the release of Days Gone from the crowded February timeframe to 26th April 2019.
"While the studio is eager to see Days Gone in the hands of fans, Bend Studio will take the opportunity to further polish Days Gone."
If we're being brutally honest, we think the delay will end up being a major win for Sony. Previews some months back for the game, both from ourselves and others, had described gameplay as being a little janky now and again.
Coupled with the game having a release date that clashed with the likes of Anthem, Crackdown 3 and Metro Exodus – all slated for February 22 – and we think the new release date for the game will significantly benefit Days Gone.

The same Sony blog post also revealed some more information on the release schedule for fellow exclusives Concrete Genie, Everybody's Golf VR and Déraciné.
Unfortunately, however, anyone hoping for news on the potential release dates for the likes of The Last of Us 2, Dreams, Death Stranding and Ghost of Tsushima were left sorely disappointed.
All Sony was willing to say is that the studios are "hard at work polishing up these epic PS4 games, but we arent yet ready to share a release timeframe."
But there is some good news for The Last of Us though, although, it's entirely dependant on whether you've actually played the first game to begin with.
That's because right now, Sony's PlayStation store appears to have gone bonkers and dropped, arguably one of the best PS4 games to date, The Last of Us Remastered, down to a crazy low price of just £9.99.
That's right, you can buy what is probably one of the best games available on PS4, for under a tenner.
Finally, but perhaps the best news of the week, Spider-Man's long-awaited New Game+ mode has finally arrived, along with some new new stickers for the Photo Mode.
Insomniac Games released two patches as they looked to improve on the game ahead of the new DLC release. Here's what they've changed:

- Added New Game+.
- Added Ultimate difficulty.
- Added 2 new Trophies.
- Added the ability to rotate layers in Photo Mode.

- Added a shortcut option to trigger Photo Mode via the left directional button.
Fixes & Updates

- Added a potential solution for a crash related to graphical artifacting.
- Addressed an issue where players could respawn inside a building in the Financial District.

- Addressed an issue where pedestrians would disappear for a frame in the distance.

- Addressed various additional issues.
Thankfully though, Marvel's Spider-Mans first DLC, The City That Never Sleeps – The Heist, is now live. And if that's not great news we don't know what is.
