Pokemon GO Community Day December NEWS: Niantic reveals important update for waiting fans (Pic: NIANTIC)
PSA – Still no news on the Community Day, but for those looking for a new Shiny Pokemon. Great news! You can now find a shiny Magnemite in the wild!
Original Story – Impatient Pokemon Go fans are still waiting for Niantic to reveal what the December Pokemon Go monster is going to be, and when they'll be able to catch it.
We usually see the announcement of the next month's Community Day just days after the previous one is over – that hasn't been the case as we move further away from the Cyndaquil-based November date, though.
Curious fans have been reaching out to Niantic staff, asking if we are even going to get a December Community Day, or if it's been cancelled thanks to the timing with Christmas during the month.
In response, Niantic Support tweeted: "We'll be making an announcement with all of this information soon, keep an eye on the @PokemonGOApp channel for details." Reassuring for fans that thought the late announcement of the event meant it was cancelled, at least.

Niantic has traditionally announced its new plans for the next Community day about two or three days after the previous one has ended.
But according to slightly more eagled eyed fans on the Silph Road subreddit, the Niantic schedule has been tweaked these past few months.
According to one user he announcement "usually" arrives on Wednesday. But speaking as a player who's been enjoying Pokemon GO since day 1, we don't recall it always being Wednesday.
That said, another user has claimed that "It used to be Tuesday but the last two have been announced on Wednesday. So the pattern has shifted for sure."
If previous trends continue, the December Community Day event is expected to take place on the weekend of December 15/16, and if it's based on the same timings as past events, it will take place between 10am and 1pm (in the UK).
Now that we've seen Chikorita and Cyndaquil headline Community Day events, we can expect Niantic to move onto Pokemon featured in 10km eggs for the special day.
That means the likes of Bagon, Slakoth, Ralts and Trapinch could be coming to the game next – along with their shiny versions.
After that, we'll probably circle back around to the final starter of Gen 2, Totodile.
Of course, none of this is official right now: we're still waiting for the event announcement to confirm this.
