SINGAPORE – There is potential for films with mentally ill characters to help fight stigma, says senior consultant and chief at the Institute of Mental Health's (IMH) Department of Psychosis Swapna Verma.
She says IMH and external organisers have used films to start conversations about mental health. "Movies can dispel some of the myths and give a realistic portrayal… showing that there are challenges, there are struggles, but they are not insurmountable."
