A new motion-controlled peripheral for the Nintendo Switch has just been unveiled but Nintendo wont say what it does till next week.
Your guess is going to be as good as ours on this one, because Nintendo hasnt said what on earth the thing is in the video below, other than its a new experience and theyll reveal it properly on Thursday, 12 September.
As you can see, it seems to come in two parts, with a simple strap on your leg, into which you insert one Joy-Con, and what seems to be a large, steering-wheel sized rubber circle with the other Joy-Con in it.
You can see the various actors – sorry, families – using it in a wide range of games, some of which seem to be fitness related and others of which are probably some sort of WarioWare style party game.

The wheel has quite a bit of give to it, and at one point it looks like someone might be using it as a bow and arrow, but who knows whats going on with the guy lying on his back.
Its not even clear whether its a single game theyre playing or many, or perhaps even existing games that have been retrofitted to use what is essentially a new controller.

Something to do with fitness seems a given though, as Nintendo had huge success with Wii Fit and has never been able to replicate that on subsequent consoles.
Wii Sports has never caught on again either, despite being re-released for the Wii U, so the best guess is that this is some sort of mixture of the two.
But then this is Nintendo were talking about here and if theres one thing that history teaches us, its that trying to predict them is almost impossible.
