First lady Melania Trump has made plans to reveal her official platform during a Rose Garden ceremony on Monday afternoon. The ceremony will mark the first time that Melania has delivered a speech from that location.
Stephanie Grisham, the first ladys spokeswoman, did not go into detail about the specifics of the platform, but she told CNN that Melania planned to focus her efforts on children.
As has been evidenced by the many events Mrs. Trump has participated in during her time as first lady, her focus will be the overall well-being of children. Something unique though: She has not narrowed her platform down to just one topic as has been done in the past. Mrs. Trump wishes to help the next generation by creating change through awareness on a variety of issues that affect children.
First ladies have traditionally chosen a social issue to promote, such as Laura Bushs literacy campaign, or Michelle Obamas “Lets Move” initiative and her championing of the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010.
The first lady tweeted to tell those who wont be able to attend Mondays Rose Garden ceremony how they can still watch a live feed of her announcement.
Tomorrow is the day! Very excited to announce my initiatives. Tune in live at the @WhiteHouse at 3 PM!
